Holiday cartoons are another occasion when editorial cartoonists can phone it in. Gorrell takes this image for the google image search for ‘flagged draped coffin’ and flips it, adds a gradient, and then adds ‘Remember remember the 5th of November May 28th 2012.’

Obviously Gorrell doesn’t cut corners with his art so he can devote his energy to his metaphors.

looks like he copied and pasted an image from the google image search for ‘sun’ and photoshopped a black circle on top of it instead of searching for solar eclipse.
The AAEC should kick him out, he is not helping editorial cartooning.
That is an outrageous Time magazine cover… Giant text reading ‘Breast feeding mom cover’? Unnecessary labeling. Draw the cover, it would make more sense. Or at least a newspaper with the headline Breast feeding mom cover.
He’s right, there isn’t anything wrong with supporting gay marriage. It is disappointing that it took Obama this long to do it.
Like with the dog stories, something from Romney’s past has been brought up, it means republicans must find something to counter from Obama’s past.

Election news must be a terrible newspaper if they are just now printing the Obama/Romney dog stories, but they sure hold the record for world’s largest newspaper.
Too bad the comics pages is just as small as every other newspaper…

Are there any cliches he didn’t use here?
as with MC Escher and David Levine Gorrell is somehow able to get away with downright stealing an artist’s work by adding “after [insert artist’s name]”

If only Congress would approve adequate funding for infrastructure, there would be a bridge over the chasm to the opposite cliff labeled RECOVERY. A good cartoon.
